If you are in a committed relationship, the birthstone of your beloved could be the gift of choice. The gem can be cut as a pendant, or it can be set on an engraved jewelry bracelet (also called “schmuck armband mit gravur” in German). Although a birthstone can carry a lot of individuality, it still cannot convey all the personalization that you want in a gift. Why not have it engraved? Jewelry that is decorated with a person’s name or special symbol is always more meaningful than just his or her birthstone, which can become quite generic considering the many people who share the same birth month.
Moving up to the next level in personalization, you can now have an engraving done directly on the face of a gemstone. This high-tech family of engraved jewelry bracelet features an etching of precious metal (e.g. pure gold or silver) on the surface of stone or another metal. This technique is achieved by using a process that deposits extremely thin (often on the nano-scale, or molecules-thick) layer of pure gold on a precious stone. The etching process is very precise since the engraving is laser-guided and laser-printed. Tiny details and designs can be made on stone; so small and so accurate are these that they can be viewed flawlessly even under magnification.
