These people wanted to go to the training event and stayed for hours learning HTML and CSS. They are two web markup languages that most of us can understand. This was not a mandatory event that your school or job requires you to attend, but a voluntary event and the first in Barcelona's History.
Many of the attendees had never been to a coworking place, where mainly freelancers and self-employed workers work together. They also have not learned new skills from random people with different backgrounds, occupations, and ages.
If you haven't figured it out, coworking refers to a style of work that includes a shared environment (often an office) and independent activities. Usually, coworking is not a way for two people to work together.
This was a glimpse at the future of work. People from all backgrounds can go places they don't have to be tied to the 9-5, boring assignments, or a boss.
With the unemployment rate hovering at 22-26%, the new generation will need to be creative in finding new jobs. They will also have to make their opportunities and not rely on their HR managers.
